CAD · carrier shell for Neros Archer
Archer shell design.
Printable carrier shell for the Neros Archer platform (supplied at Physical Qualifier). Purpose: a standardized, inspectable envelope for our compute + cabling so that AIGP organizers can verify we haven't added anything outside the rules.
Target

update when released
Placeholder. The Neros Archer mechanical spec hasn't been released to competitors yet. Dimensions below are best-guess based on the 2025 DCL Championship drone class. Update when Anduril / Neros publishes the real spec (expected mid-to-late summer 2026).
§ 01Shell responsibilities
- Hold our compute (Orin Nano or similar) in a predictable mount relative to the frame.
- Protect the camera lens from impact without obstructing FOV.
- Expose a visible inspection window so organizers can verify no extra sensors are present.
- Include a lanyard / kill-switch cutout so safety pilot can disarm under the 10-min rule.
- Pass airflow over the Orin heatsink (critical for 15W sustained).
§ 02Parameters (placeholder)
| Parameter | Value |
| Overall envelope (L × W × H) | ~140 × 120 × 60 mm |
| Wall thickness | 3 mm |
| Orin mount pattern | 4× M2.5 standoffs at official Jetson holes |
| Camera cutout | 24 × 24 mm |
| Camera tilt | ~30° down |
| Ventilation area | > 1 500 mm² side slots |
| Weight target | < 45 g printed |
| Infill | 20% gyroid |
§ 03Print settings
Printer: Prusa MK4 · 0.4 mm nozzle
Material: PrusaMent PETG black
Layer: 0.20 mm (Quality)
Walls: 3 perimeters
Infill: 20% gyroid
Supports: Only for camera tilt flange
Print time: ~6 hr
Orientation: Longest axis flat on build plate
§ 04Inspection features
Because reviewers may inspect the drone at Physical, the shell is designed for fast visual verification:
- Single Phillips screw access. No hidden cavities.
- Translucent viewing port (no dye in filament near the port area) exposing the compute + wiring.
- Cable glands are numbered 1–4; schematic label etched on bottom of shell.
- No internal cavities that could hide accelerometers or additional cameras.
Update trigger: when Neros publishes the Archer CAD or dimensions, update parameters in §02, regenerate STL / STEP, and re-print. Keep a tagged git commit on the update so we can revert if spec changes again.
